No. Offer a greeting, photo or group moment as choices, and let guests participate only if comfortable.
Talk through the visit beforehand and decide whether they would like to wave, chat or watch first.
Ask our team about the character, program details, costs and availability. Wait for confirmation before treating the date as set.
In Bushnell, Utah, a character visit can fit neatly between the birthday child's welcome and the rest of the celebration. Keep the opening gentle: a wave or a few words, followed by an optional photo or shared activity. Tell guests ahead of time that watching is welcome too. As you plan, share the child's preferred theme, age range and setting with our team. Check program details, costs and availability directly. A request for a date is not confirmation or payment.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Utah State Parks publishes a specific reservation season and advance-booking process for group sites at Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation. Check the exact group site and current conditions before fixing your date. This is one state-managed property example: group-site availability does not establish eligibility for a birthday gathering or permission for hired entertainment.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
