Begin with a wave or a greeting from a comfortable distance. Invite children to come closer rather than requiring it.
Offer one simple shared moment, such as a birthday wish, then make photos optional for each child.
Ask about the facility type, reservations, access and permission for hired entertainment. Confirm visit details separately.
For a Camp Clark gathering, decide first whether the party needs an enclosed room or can work in an outdoor setting. That choice shapes the visit: a short character greeting can lead into a birthday message, a group wave and optional photos, without asking every child to take part. Give the birthday child time to observe before joining. Ask us about the requested character and a manageable visit plan. Confirm the venue's rules, program details, cost and availability with the operator and our team before committing.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Missouri State Parks says enclosed shelters, venues and meeting rooms require advance reservations. Check the exact facility type and current booking conditions, since open picnic shelters can follow a different process. Confirm the gathering layout and permission for a hired character visit with the operator; this policy does not establish entertainer availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
