Offer a wave, watching, or a photo as choices. The birthday child can pick a greeting, while other children decide for themselves.

No. A request is not a reservation or payment. Wait for confirmation before treating the visit as booked.
In Dover Township, New Jersey, verify the exact gathering place before planning around its amenities. A character visit can stay simple: welcome the character, give the birthday child a chosen greeting, then invite guests to wave, watch, or join a photo. Build in space for children who prefer a quieter role. Statewide planning guidance does not verify Dover Township facilities or policies, and an example from another New Jersey municipality should not be treated as local information. Confirm venue permission and visit details, costs, and availability with the relevant operator and our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
As a city-scoped example within New Jersey, Edison municipal parks provide the published park amenities directory. Edison publishes a park amenities directory with pavilion, picnic grove and playground fields. Use the directory to check facilities for your group, then ask the responsible venue about reservations and paid entertainment; an amenity listing does not reserve it. This example applies only to Edison's listed municipal facilities; other cities and state-managed parks have separate operators and rules. Confirm the exact venue's reservation process and permission for hired entertainment.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
