A New York character visit works best when the space and activity suit the group. Let the birthday child choose a wave, a short greeting, or a photo with a caregiver nearby; then invite guests to take part in one simple shared activity. Before reserving a pavilion or event space, consider the group's size and how easily children can gather for photos. Share venue details and timing with our team. Confirm the requested program, costs, and availability. Statewide advice here does not verify city facilities or policies.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New York State Parks describes a range of pavilion and event rental sizes and amenities. Check the exact facility's capacity, layout and regional booking conditions before choosing a gathering plan. Confirm whether a hired character visit and any equipment are permitted; the statewide rental page does not establish that every activity or date is available.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
