In Forbes Village, start by shaping the visit around one calm moment for the birthday child: a wave at the door, a short hello, or a photo together. Let children decide whether to join in, watch from nearby, or take a little time before greeting the character. Ask us about the character theme and possible visit activities, then confirm program details, costs and availability. Statewide planning guidance is available, but city facilities and policies have not been verified.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Connecticut State Parks and Forests provides an online booking route for the picnic shelters listed on its rental page. Use the specific listing to check capacity, season, facilities and reservation conditions. Ask the operator whether your proposed hired entertainer and equipment are permitted; a picnic shelter booking does not automatically approve those activities.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
