Offer a wave, a group activity or quiet observation. Let children decide, and keep a parent close for the first hello.
Provide the guest of honor's name, a simple schedule and any sensitivities. Set up one clear spot for greeting and photos.
No. A date request does not reserve or pay for a visit. Confirm cost, availability and program details with our team.
For a Harrisburg Junction gathering, build the visit around an unhurried greeting rather than a packed activity list. Give the guest of honor time to say hello, offer photos in small turns and invite children to participate only if they wish. Statewide planning suggestions do not verify a local facility or its policies. If considering a state park group site, check the exact property and current booking conditions before choosing a date. Ask us or our team about the requested theme, then confirm availability, cost and program details.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Utah State Parks publishes a specific reservation season and advance-booking process for group sites at Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation. Check the exact group site and current conditions before fixing your date. This is one state-managed property example: group-site availability does not establish eligibility for a birthday gathering or permission for hired entertainment.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
