Offer watching, waving or taking a photo from beside a trusted adult. Let each child choose without pressure.
Choose a greeting spot, tell guests where to gather and keep a clear path for the character and children.
No. A date request is not a reservation or payment. Ask us to confirm availability, costs and program details.
For a Homelake birthday, make the character visit a calm highlight within a simple party plan. Set a clear welcome spot, then let children watch from their seats or approach one at a time. A short greeting, a group photo and an optional wave can suit children who need time to warm up. Before inviting guests, ask us about the requested theme, possible program details, costs and availability. Since city facilities are unverified, treat state guidance as statewide planning checks, not confirmation of a Homelake venue or policy.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife explains that group-area amenities vary by state park. Check the actual shelter, surface, seating and access arrangements for the chosen group area before planning games or a character entrance. Ask the park about the proposed hired entertainment and any event procedures; listed amenities do not establish approval or availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
