Offer a wave or a chance to watch first. Let the child decide whether to move closer or take a photo.
Choose one simple activity or a group photo, and let children join without requiring everyone to take a turn.
Ask us to confirm the theme, program details, cost and availability. Share the venue, guest count and date request; a request is not a reservation.
For an outdoor character gathering in Lyons, Oregon, sort out the venue plan before shaping the visit. A calm greeting can begin with a wave, followed by a child-led choice to pose for a photo or join a simple activity. Keep an adult close for reassurance and let other guests participate in an unhurried way. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Lyons venues or policies. Ask us to confirm the requested theme, program details, cost and date availability.

Oregon State Parks accepts reservations at parks with reservable group day-use facilities as well as many campgrounds. Check the specific facility and booking conditions rather than treating all parks or campsite reservations as group-event bookings. Ask the operator about hired entertainment and any additional permission before setting the party plan.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
