In Marshallville, a relaxed character visit starts with an adult who can welcome the guest and explain what happens next. Give the birthday child a choice to wave, watch or meet the character with a parent nearby; save time for photos and invite guests to join only if they wish. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Marshallville venues or local rules. Confirm the character program, cost and availability with the team. For outdoor plans, decide who will monitor weather and help everyone move indoors if needed.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
