Yes. Ask the venue directly whether a costumed entertainer may perform there before you finalize your theme.
Akron families planning a character party often start with the venue. The city's recreation department lists several kinds of rooms that may be available, but each site handles its own calendar, so the first step is choosing a room and then checking directly with the site.
The City of Akron operates several community centers across the city, and each one runs its own mix of programs. Each center has different multipurpose rooms that may be rented. Pick the center closest to your guests, then contact that center directly to ask whether a room is open on your date and what its rental terms are.

Some Akron public schools have community learning center rooms that the city's recreation division coordinates. The listed hours are 5:00 to 10:00 pm on school days, 8:00 am to 10:00 pm on weekends, and during the summer. Ask the recreation division whether a room at your school's center fits your party time, and confirm that a character entertainer can be scheduled there.

Before you choose a theme, ask the venue whether outside entertainers are permitted, what time the room is available for setup and cleanup, whether there is space for a costumed visit to move around, and whether any events are scheduled nearby. Written answers help avoid surprises on the day.
