Offer a wave, a photo from beside a parent, or simply watching first. Let the child choose whether to move closer.
Share the visit location, timing, guest age range and any access or schedule considerations with us. Confirm the program, cost and availability before making plans.
Ask us what program options are available, then leave time for a gentle introduction, photos and guest participation without rushing the child.
In Mayodan, start with the child's comfort and the shape of the gathering. A character visit can open with a wave from a little distance, then move into a photo or a short hello if the birthday child wants. Let guests join in by taking turns with a simple greeting or group pose; watching quietly is fine, too. Before choosing an outdoor plan, settle the setting and timing, then ask us about the requested character. Program details, costs and availability need confirmation.

North Carolina State Parks notes that facilities can have limited hours. Check the exact shelter or room's permitted use period, layout and reservation conditions before setting the entertainer's arrival and departure times. Ask the park about hired entertainment separately; a facility reservation does not establish approval for all party activities.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
