You can ask the park whether an open picnic table will suit your group. Crowder County Park's tables are first-come, first-served, so an early arrival helps. For a covered space, check the reservation options at the park you choose.
Beech Bluff County Park's shelters each hold up to 50 visitors. Confirm the count against your guest list before you reserve.
Not necessarily. William B. Umstead and Falls Lake are state-run, so ask each park directly how it handles reservations and group use.
Ask whether outside entertainers are permitted, how much space the character will have, and whether you need an outlet or any staff check-in. These answers vary by venue.
Cary sits in Wake County, and several parks nearby can host a child's birthday gathering. Before you pick a character, it helps to settle where the party will happen, since outdoor space, shelter and crowd size shape how a character visit will run.
Beech Bluff County Park, run by Wake County Parks near Cary, has picnic shelters that each hold up to 50 visitors. Groups can reserve only one shelter per day, and shelters are rented for the whole day, with reservations open from 9 a.m. until 30 minutes before the posted closing time. If you want a covered gathering space, ask the park which shelter is free on your date and whether your guest count fits.

Crowder County Park in Apex, also under Wake County, has picnic tables spread through the grounds on a first-come, first-served basis. This works well for a smaller family gathering that does not need a reserved shelter. You may want to arrive early on a weekend to claim a table near the spot where your character will perform.

William B. Umstead State Park's Reedy Creek access, about nine miles northwest of downtown Raleigh, offers a picnic shelter with a stone deck, group campsites and a lake. Falls Lake's Beaverdam access, about 20 miles north of downtown Raleigh, is another state recreation area in Wake County. These are state-run sites, so their reservation and rental rules differ from county parks; check directly with the park before you plan around them.

Ask the venue whether outside entertainers are permitted, whether your guest count fits the space, and whether the character can use an electrical outlet if your visit includes music. Confirm the start time and whether the venue wants you to check in with staff before the visit. Clarify each detail with the venue, since rules differ between parks and rental spaces.
