In New Rome, a weather-ready plan can help the party feel settled even if the forecast changes. Choose a named adult to monitor conditions and explain the indoor move to guests before the character arrives. During the visit, offer a simple greeting, a photo opportunity and an optional group activity so children can participate at their own pace. Confirm the venue's rules and backup access, then ask our team about the requested theme, program, cost and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
