Let them stay with a trusted adult and choose whether to wave or speak. Avoid asking them to hug, pose or perform.

In Sturkie, Arkansas, start with the setting you have confirmed, then shape the character visit around the birthday child's comfort. A gentle greeting can be a wave before any closer interaction. Give the child time to watch, then offer a short story or song that guests may join at their own pace. Keep the photo moment focused on the guest of honor, with a trusted adult nearby, and let other children opt in. Ask us about the requested theme, program details, costs and availability; confirm facility arrangements and permission with its operator.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Arkansas's Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism identifies its State Parks division and links to park and group-facility information. Start with the exact state-managed property, then ask its operator about group day-use reservations, practical facilities and permission for hired entertainment. The agency overview does not establish birthday eligibility, a reservation or entertainer availability.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
