A wave and a brief hello give children time to settle. The birthday child can choose whether to approach or stay with a caregiver.
Set aside a clear spot and invite children in small groups. Keep the birthday child's photo flexible, with a family member welcome beside them.
Choose the weather monitor and identify the indoor route if outdoors. Confirm the requested theme, program details, costs and availability with our team.
In Acton, Massachusetts, build a character visit around a warm greeting and an easy transition into photos or a short activity. Give the birthday child first choice, while letting other guests wave or watch from nearby. If the party is outdoors, decide in advance who will watch the weather and guide a move inside. Statewide planning guidance does not verify Acton venues or local policies. Ask us about the requested theme and confirm visit details, costs and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue.
