Let them watch from a trusted adult's side. A wave or photo can wait until they choose.
Use a simple turn-taking order and let each child choose a greeting or a quiet wave.
No. Check gathering permission with the actual operator, and confirm theme-provider details, cost, and availability with our team.
At Ages Brookside, a character visit can fit neatly between arrival and cake, leaving the birthday child time to warm up. Start with a greeting from a comfortable distance, then offer a choice of a photo or a short group activity. Guests can join by taking turns or watching quietly. If an overnight stay is part of the plan, keep that booking separate from permission to hold a gathering or host hired entertainment. Ask us to confirm the requested theme, program, cost, and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Kentucky State Parks' FAQ describes reservations for lodge rooms, cottages and campsites. If the plan includes an overnight stay, check the current booking and cancellation conditions for that accommodation. Contact the actual park about separate gathering space and hired entertainment; an overnight reservation does not establish birthday eligibility or event permission.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
