Let the child stay with a trusted adult and choose whether to wave, watch or say hello. There is no need to require a hug or close-up photo.
Invite everyone to wave or sing together, then let children participate at their own comfort level.
Share the date, ZIP code, ages, setting and requested costume theme. Confirm program details, costs and availability with our team.
In Auburn, Kentucky, keep the birthday plan flexible: choose a familiar gathering spot, then decide where a character greeting could fit without interrupting food or play. The child can watch from beside a parent, wave, or join in when ready. Set aside a short photo moment and offer guests a simple way to participate, such as a group wave or helping sing. Before contacting our team, have the preferred date, ZIP code, guest ages and indoor or outdoor plan ready. Ask us about the requested costume theme, program ideas, costs and availability; each needs confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Kentucky State Parks' FAQ describes reservations for lodge rooms, cottages and campsites. If the plan includes an overnight stay, check the current booking and cancellation conditions for that accommodation. Contact the actual park about separate gathering space and hired entertainment; an overnight reservation does not establish birthday eligibility or event permission.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
