Set aside time for guest arrival, the character visit and photos, then confirm the full schedule with the venue.
Yes. Offer watching, waving or joining the activity, with no pressure to pose or speak.
No. Ask the facility about hired entertainment separately and ask us to confirm program details, costs and availability.
For a Battleboro party, build the character visit around the time your chosen room or shelter allows, rather than assuming the schedule is open-ended. Give the birthday child a relaxed greeting, then move into one manageable group activity and optional photos. Share the plan with a helper so setup and guest arrival do not crowd the visit. Ask us to confirm the requested character theme, program ideas, costs and availability.

North Carolina State Parks notes that facilities can have limited hours. Check the exact shelter or room's permitted use period, layout and reservation conditions before setting the entertainer's arrival and departure times. Ask the park about hired entertainment separately; a facility reservation does not establish approval for all party activities.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
