Choose a time within the facility's confirmed use period, leaving a little space for the greeting and photos.
Offer a wave, a nearby photo or simply watching with a parent. Follow the child's lead.
Confirm venue timing and permissions, then share the arrival point, child's comfort level and backup plan with guests.
In Biggs Park, North Carolina, plan the character visit around the facility's permitted time rather than squeezing the greeting into the final minutes. Give the birthday child a quiet first hello, then leave room for an optional photo and a group activity. Before the party, identify who will guide guests and where the child can step away. Statewide planning checks are not verified Biggs Park venues or local policies; confirm the exact facility and event permissions.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
North Carolina State Parks notes that facilities can have limited hours. Check the exact shelter or room's permitted use period, layout and reservation conditions before setting the entertainer's arrival and departure times. Ask the park about hired entertainment separately; a facility reservation does not establish approval for all party activities.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
