It depends on the park's own rules. Ask the park or Cameron County Parks and Recreation whether outside entertainers are allowed and what setup is permitted before you book.
Our character visits start at one hour. Longer visits can be booked in 30-minute increments, such as 1.5, 2 or 2.5 hours.
You can discuss options such as games, dancing, photos or story time with your character. These are possibilities to talk through, not included services.
Ask the venue about shade, seating and what happens if the weather changes, and plan a backup space in case your party needs to move.
Brownsville is a practical place to plan a kids' party with a character visit, especially if you are considering an outdoor setting. Choose the character your child loves first, then think about where the party will happen and what the space allows. A few questions up front will make the visit easier to shape.
La Esperanza Community Park, in the Cameron Park colonia of Brownsville, sits next to El Centro Cultural at 2100 Gregory Avenue. The park has a walking trail, a playground, a picnic pavilion, a lighted soccer field, a basketball court pavilion and an outdoor basketball court. Ask the park or Cameron County Parks and Recreation whether an outside entertainer may perform there and where the group can set up.

Think about whether your party will be indoors or outdoors and how much room the character will need for games, songs or photos. A picnic pavilion may suit a smaller group, while an open area may need a backup plan if the weather changes. Ask the venue what the rules are for sound, power and decorations so the visit runs smoothly.
Tell us which character your child wants to meet and how long you would like the visit to last. Our character visits start at one hour, with longer visits booked in 30-minute increments, such as 1.5, 2 or 2.5 hours. Ask which activities such as dancing, games or photos can be discussed for your party. Every activity is an option to talk through, not a fixed part of the booking.
