Have the character arrive where children can see them without being crowded. Let each child choose whether to wave, talk or watch from beside a trusted adult.
Offer a group photo for anyone who wants one, then invite children to join a simple wave, song or dance. Check with our team to confirm program details.
Share the schedule and space details with our team, and plan where the character can enter and take photos. Confirm costs and availability before relying on a particular date or program.
For a character visit in Buel, plan around the children's comfort and a simple gathering space rather than a packed schedule. Let the guest of honor know who is arriving, then offer a wave or a little distance before inviting them to join in. A short greeting, a few photos and one easy group activity can make the visit feel manageable. Ask us about the character you have in mind, and confirm the program, costs and availability with our team before setting expectations.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New York State Parks describes a range of pavilion and event rental sizes and amenities. Check the exact facility's capacity, layout and regional booking conditions before choosing a gathering plan. Confirm whether a hired character visit and any equipment are permitted; the statewide rental page does not establish that every activity or date is available.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
