No. Let the child greet, wave, or observe, and keep each option acceptable.
Set one photo area and invite guests in a few at a time, with space for the child's parent or caregiver.
Ask us about theme, program details, cost, and availability. Separately confirm facility reservations and entertainment permission with the operator.
A Carrington character visit can feel more comfortable when the birthday child knows what will happen first: a greeting, a photo opportunity, then an optional activity with guests. Keep the route to the meeting spot clear and let the child choose whether to join in or watch. Before settling on a state park space, check whether it is an enclosed room or an open shelter. Ask us to confirm the requested theme, visit details, cost, and availability, and verify site permission with the operator.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Missouri State Parks says enclosed shelters, venues and meeting rooms require advance reservations. Check the exact facility type and current booking conditions, since open picnic shelters can follow a different process. Confirm the gathering layout and permission for a hired character visit with the operator; this policy does not establish entertainer availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
