Offer a wave, a quiet hello with a caregiver nearby, or joining the group later. Let each child decide.
Set aside a clear spot and invite children to join in turn. The birthday child can choose whether to be first.
Use the agreed indoor backup and let the designated adult guide the transition. An open shelter is not the lightning backup.
In Cassopolis, a thoughtful visit can leave room for both a shared group moment and a child's individual pace. Offer the birthday child a choice to wave first or greet the character near a trusted adult. Guests can join a brief story or song, with photos afterward for those who want them. For an outdoor party, prepare an indoor backup and choose who will watch conditions before guests arrive. Send us the requested date, ZIP code, child's age, guest count, and setting. Program details, cost, and availability must be confirmed with our team; asking about a date is not a booking.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
