Have the character begin with a wave, then let the child choose whether to approach, pose for a photo, or watch nearby.
Ask the operator about the group area's surface, seating, access, setup rules, and permission for hired entertainment.
Ask us to confirm the requested theme, program details, cost, and availability. Treat activities as planning ideas until confirmed.
For a Cheyenne Wells gathering, keep the character visit simple enough for children to follow and flexible enough for the birthday child to set the pace. A friendly greeting can lead to an optional photo, then a short shared activity for guests who want to join. Before planning games or a character entrance, check the actual group area for its surface, seating, shade, and access. Ask us to confirm the requested theme, program details, cost, and availability; venue permission is a separate check.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife explains that group-area amenities vary by state park. Check the actual shelter, surface, seating and access arrangements for the chosen group area before planning games or a character entrance. Ask the park about the proposed hired entertainment and any event procedures; listed amenities do not establish approval or availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
