A character visit in Danville, Ohio, can feel special without asking every child to perform or join a game. Let the birthday child choose a greeting, then offer guests a quiet group photo or a simple turn-based activity if confirmed with us. Keep the entrance and photo area clear so children can step away easily. For an outdoor party, prepare a real indoor alternative and choose an adult to watch conditions. Send us your preferred date and setting to confirm program details, cost and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
