In Dotsero, think through the gathering space before planning a character entrance or games. A stable, easy-to-reach spot can make it simpler for children to greet the character, take photos and join at their own pace. Keep an alternative activity ready for anyone who prefers to watch. Ask us about the theme you are considering, then confirm program details, cost and availability with our team. Colorado guidance can help frame questions about state park spaces, but it does not verify a local venue or its policies.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife explains that group-area amenities vary by state park. Check the actual shelter, surface, seating and access arrangements for the chosen group area before planning games or a character entrance. Ask the park about the proposed hired entertainment and any event procedures; listed amenities do not establish approval or availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
