Keep the greeting at a comfortable distance and let the child watch with a trusted adult. They can choose whether to join later.
Offer one brief group activity, then invite small groups for photos. Children can pass or stay with the group.
Ask us about the requested costume theme, program details, cost and availability. Share the timing and child's preferences; an inquiry is not a reservation.
In Dumfries, Minnesota, give the birthday child room to enjoy the character visit in their own way. A friendly wave can be the whole greeting at first; a short group activity or photo can follow if the child is ready. Tell the organizer whether guests should gather in one area and set aside a quiet option for anyone who prefers to watch. Confirm the requested theme, program details, cost and availability with our team before planning around a visit.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
