A Dunes City gathering can feel welcoming without asking every child to join the same activity. Plan for a brief character greeting, an optional group moment, and photo time that families can approach at their own pace. If you are looking at an Oregon state park, verify that the exact facility supports group day use and ask its operator about reservations and entertainment. A campground booking alone may not fit a party plan.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Oregon State Parks accepts reservations at parks with reservable group day-use facilities as well as many campgrounds. Check the specific facility and booking conditions rather than treating all parks or campsite reservations as group-event bookings. Ask the operator about hired entertainment and any additional permission before setting the party plan.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
