In East Claridon, a character visit can feel easygoing when the children know what to expect. Plan a short hello first, then let each child choose whether to wave, talk or watch beside a trusted adult. Set aside a clear spot for photos and keep the next activity simple, such as a group game or a birthday message. Before asking us about a character visit, share the planned date, setting, guest ages and any mobility or sensory needs. Program ideas, cost and availability need confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
