Start with a wave or greeting from across the room. Children can come forward when ready, with a parent nearby if that helps.
Set a short photo window after the greeting. Invite children in small groups and offer a no-photo option.
Check facility hours and activity permission with the operator. Ask our team to confirm the requested theme, program details, cost, and availability.
A relaxed East Flat Rock character visit can begin with a greeting children may join at their own pace. Give the character a simple place to stand and let guests wave from their seats before inviting anyone closer. Build in a quick group photo, with no pressure to be in it. Ask us about the requested costume theme and visit options; details, cost, and availability must be confirmed. If using a state-managed facility, check its hours and conditions before choosing a start time, and decide on an indoor weather backup.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
North Carolina State Parks notes that facilities can have limited hours. Check the exact shelter or room's permitted use period, layout and reservation conditions before setting the entertainer's arrival and departure times. Ask the park about hired entertainment separately; a facility reservation does not establish approval for all party activities.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
