Let the child watch from beside a trusted adult, then decide whether to greet the character or take a photo.
Invite children to join a short activity or wave together. Keep participation optional and save a quiet moment for family photos.
No. Confirm venue permission with its operator, then ask us about the requested program, cost and availability.
For a Flamingo Lodge gathering, give the birthday child time to warm up before the character approaches. A friendly wave can lead into a short greeting, a parent-supported photo or a small activity for children who want to join. Keep the visit area uncluttered so the child can step away and return when ready. These are planning suggestions, not guaranteed program features; ask us to confirm details, cost and availability for the requested theme.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Florida DEP describes the Florida Park Service and links to its state park information. Identify the exact state-managed property, then ask about the relevant group facility, reservation process and operating conditions. Describe hired entertainment to the operator before booking; the agency overview does not establish birthday eligibility, permission or availability at a particular park.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
