Offer a wave or a look from beside a trusted adult; let the child choose whether to approach.
Choose one simple photo spot and have a familiar adult keep the group nearby without pressing the child to pose.
Ask us about the requested character, visit program, cost and availability. A date request is not a reservation.
In Fort Dodge, keep a character visit simple enough to work indoors or outside. Ask us about a gentle greeting, then let the birthday child choose whether to wave, talk or watch from beside a familiar adult. Plan a short photo moment after the child has had time to settle in. Give guests an easy way to join, such as taking turns with a wave or sharing a birthday wish. Confirm program details, cost and availability with our team; these are not established by local facility information.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
