Let them watch from a comfortable spot, with a trusted adult nearby. They can join a greeting or photo later if they choose.
Choose one clear photo spot and invite guests in small groups, rather than having everyone crowd around the child.
Contact our team to confirm the theme, program details, cost and availability. A date request alone does not reserve the visit.
For a Great River celebration, make the photo moment easy to join and easy to skip. The child of honor can begin with a wave or a picture alongside a familiar adult, then invite a few guests into a group pose. Keep the planned activity short so children can return to the party when ready. Verify the exact gathering space and its rules before committing to a layout; statewide information does not establish local policies. Ask us to confirm the requested theme, program details, cost and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New York State Parks describes a range of pavilion and event rental sizes and amenities. Check the exact facility's capacity, layout and regional booking conditions before choosing a gathering plan. Confirm whether a hired character visit and any equipment are permitted; the statewide rental page does not establish that every activity or date is available.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
