Offer simple options: wave, watch beside a caregiver, or take part in a group activity. No child needs to approach for the visit to work.
Ask about the gathering space, access, and permission for hired entertainment. Treat lodging and event approval as separate arrangements.
No. A request does not reserve or pay for a visit. Confirm the program details, costs, and availability with our team.
For a Highview celebration, keep the character's arrival simple and let the birthday child set the pace. A friendly greeting, a chance to wave or talk, and a short photo moment can make the visit feel manageable for younger guests. If your plans include an overnight stay, keep lodging arrangements separate from approval for a gathering or hired entertainment. Prepare one optional group activity and a quiet way for children to watch first. Ask us about the requested theme; program details, costs, and availability must be confirmed.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Kentucky State Parks' FAQ describes reservations for lodge rooms, cottages and campsites. If the plan includes an overnight stay, check the current booking and cancellation conditions for that accommodation. Contact the actual park about separate gathering space and hired entertainment; an overnight reservation does not establish birthday eligibility or event permission.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
