Give them the first chance to greet the character or choose a photo. Let them decide whether to speak, wave or have a caregiver nearby.
Offer one simple group activity or a photo, and make it clear that watching is fine too. A flexible pace helps children take part when ready.
Confirm venue arrangements and entertainment permission with the operator. Ask us about the requested theme, program details, cost and availability; requesting a date does not secure it.
A character visit in Landover can work best when the organizer keeps transitions simple: welcome the guest, give the birthday child first choice of a greeting, then invite the group to join a photo or short activity. Children can watch from a comfortable distance before taking part. Set aside a clear entrance and ask one adult to gather guests. Baltimore's room-rental information applies only to Baltimore facilities, not Landover. Confirm your actual venue's arrangements and ask us about theme details, cost and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
As a city-scoped example within Maryland, Baltimore city recreation centers provide room rental information. Baltimore directs families to their recreation center for room rental information. Check the actual room capacity, permitted entertainment and setup time rather than assuming any recreation center can host the same program. This example applies only to Baltimore's listed municipal facilities; other cities and state-managed parks have separate operators and rules. Confirm the exact venue's reservation process and permission for hired entertainment.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
