Offer a wave or a short greeting, then let children choose whether to come closer or watch.
Pick a clear photo area before the visit and have an adult invite children in small groups, without requiring a pose.
Check the pavilion reservation and entertainment permission with the operator. Confirm the character program, cost and availability with our team.
For a party in Lehman, keep the character visit easy to follow: a friendly greeting, one shared activity and time for individual photos. Children can join in, wave from their seats or simply watch; a quiet option helps the moment feel comfortable rather than rushed. If a state park pavilion is part of your plan, treat the date as tentative until you have checked its confirmation process. Ask us to verify the requested character theme, program, cost and availability, and check with the space operator about permission.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Pennsylvania DCNR publishes payment conditions for confirmed state park picnic pavilion reservations. Check the current confirmation and cancellation process before treating a requested date as secured. Confirm the exact pavilion, access and permission for hired entertainment with its operator; the pavilion payment and the entertainer's quote are separate arrangements.

National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
