In Mason, decide who will handle weather changes before the birthday child's special greeting. A designated adult can monitor conditions while another welcomes guests and keeps the photo area clear. Begin with a wave or brief hello, then invite children to photos or a shared activity without requiring anyone to join. For an outdoor plan, identify an indoor destination and a simple route. Ask us to confirm the requested theme, visit program, costs and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
