Start with a wave or a little space. Offer a photo beside a trusted adult, and let the child decide whether to approach.
Invite guests to offer a greeting or join a photo one at a time. Keep watching from nearby as an equally welcome option.
Check the location's conditions and timing with its operator. Ask us about the requested character, program details, costs and availability.
In Mayport, keep the visit plan flexible until the exact gathering space is confirmed. If you are considering a state-managed property, contact its operator about the relevant facility and conditions before planning around a character appearance. At the party, begin with a wave or a hello beside a trusted adult; offer the birthday child a photo choice, then invite guests to join in at their own pace. Ask us about the theme and confirm program details, costs and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Florida DEP describes the Florida Park Service and links to its state park information. Identify the exact state-managed property, then ask about the relevant group facility, reservation process and operating conditions. Describe hired entertainment to the operator before booking; the agency overview does not establish birthday eligibility, permission or availability at a particular park.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
