In Midland, Ohio, a clear weather plan can help the host stay present for the child's special moment. Choose an adult to watch conditions and handle any move indoors; the host can focus on welcoming the character and helping children settle. Keep the greeting short and offer a choice between a wave, a family photo or simply watching. Then invite willing guests into an activity. Confirm the party plan with the venue and ask us about the requested theme, program, cost and availability.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
