Modesto has city parks and city facilities that residents can rent for private gatherings, so a character visit can happen in a park pavilion or an indoor hall. Before choosing a character, it helps to know who runs the space, how far ahead it must be booked, and what the venue requires from the person who books it.
The City of Modesto rents several kinds of facilities to the public, including small halls, auditoriums and picnic pavilions. Parks around the city are also available for events. Look at whether your party needs shelter from sun or weather, indoor space for a crowd, or an open lawn where a character can move around. Ask the venue directly whether outside entertainers may perform there and what they need to know beforehand.
