Offer two simple choices: wave from nearby or say hello with a grown-up. Let the birthday child choose first.
Choose an adult to welcome the entertainer and help guests take turns. Share the planned start and any child preferences beforehand.
Ask us about the character theme and ideas for the visit. Confirm activities, cost and availability with our team.
In Montclair, build the character visit around a small, comfortable first step. The birthday child might wave from a parent's side, then decide whether to say hello or join a photo. Keep guest participation simple so children can come forward in turns rather than crowding the moment. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Montclair venues or local policies. Ask us about a theme, and confirm program details, cost and availability with our team.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife explains that group-area amenities vary by state park. Check the actual shelter, surface, seating and access arrangements for the chosen group area before planning games or a character entrance. Ask the park about the proposed hired entertainment and any event procedures; listed amenities do not establish approval or availability.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
