For North Adams, Michigan, plan a character visit with a clear indoor fallback so a weather change does not become a surprise for the children. The birthday child can start with a wave or watch beside a familiar adult, then decide about a photo. Keep guest participation optional and the activity easy to pause. Tell our team the intended schedule and who will coordinate any move indoors. Program details, costs, and availability should be confirmed.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
