Offer watching, waving or joining the group activity as equally welcome choices. Avoid making a child take a turn or pose alone.
Choose a spot with room for a small line and clear access. Tell guests when photos will happen so families can gather without rushing.
Ask our team about the requested theme, visit length and possible activities. Program details, costs and availability require confirmation.
In North Durham, make the character visit one calm part of the party rather than the whole event. Ask us about a simple sequence: a friendly greeting, a short group activity, then time for individual or family photos. Let children watch first or join when ready. Before choosing a setting, check its actual rules and schedule; city facilities and their policies have not been verified here. Share the guest ages, party layout and your preferred visit length with our team so the program can be discussed clearly.

North Carolina State Parks notes that facilities can have limited hours. Check the exact shelter or room's permitted use period, layout and reservation conditions before setting the entertainer's arrival and departure times. Ask the park about hired entertainment separately; a facility reservation does not establish approval for all party activities.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
