In Ocqueoc, Michigan, make the birthday child's comfort the guide: they can greet the character from beside a parent, watch a short activity or join when ready. Prepare one calm photo option and a simple group moment, with no pressure to participate. For an outdoor gathering, think through the weather plan and who will make the call to move inside. These are statewide planning suggestions, not confirmed city venues or policies. Tell us the date, setting and child's preferences when you ask about a visit; program details, costs and availability need confirmation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.

National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
