For an Olivet, Michigan celebration, a little structure can help children feel at ease when a costumed guest arrives. Have the birthday child choose a first moment: a hello from their seat or a wave from across the room. Invite willing guests into a quick photo, while others can watch. Keep a simple activity after the greeting, and tell our team the party setting and guest ages when asking about a theme. Program details, costs, and availability must be confirmed.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
Official source (opens in a new tab)Choose an adult to monitor the forecast and decide when to move the group indoors. National Weather Service guidance calls for a designated weather monitor; confirm a practical route to the backup space with the venue. This does not establish local permits, shelter reservations or entertainer availability.
