Let the birthday child choose whether to greet the character first or stay beside a trusted adult. A calm wave can be a complete first interaction.
Offer a family photo and a group photo as optional moments. Keep the photo area clear and let children leave or rejoin without disrupting the visit.
Confirm the indoor backup and route with the venue, and assign an adult to monitor weather. Ask our team to confirm character program details, costs, and availability.
For Orchard Island, Ohio, a useful first step is choosing one adult to help the birthday child feel at ease during the character's arrival. The child can greet the guest, wave from a familiar person's side, or simply watch. Offer photos and guest participation as invitations, not obligations. Keep the visit focused on a short shared moment and a manageable activity. Ask us about the character theme; visit details, costs, and availability should be confirmed with our team. Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
