Give the child a choice to wave from nearby, approach, or watch with a trusted adult. Follow their lead before suggesting a photo.
Invite guests to wait for a group photo or join a simple wave-along. Make participation optional and keep the schedule flexible.
The listed reservation route does not establish that permission. Ask the specific operator, and confirm the visit arrangements with our team.
In Ouzinkie, let the birthday child decide how close and how soon the character comes into the celebration. A gentle wave can be the whole greeting at first; photos and guest participation can follow only when the child is ready. If you are considering a recreation-site shelter, check the specific booking and access details instead of assuming one process applies everywhere. These are statewide planning checks and parent suggestions, not verified Ouzinkie venues or policies. Ask us about a character visit, then confirm program details, costs, and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Alaska's Refuge Cove State Recreation Site publishes an online reservation route for its picnic shelter. Check the specific shelter, date and access conditions rather than assuming every state park works the same way. Ask the operator about permission for a hired character visit; the reservation route alone does not establish that permission.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
