Offer two comfortable choices, such as a wave or a family photo, and let the child decide. Watching quietly is also fine.
Choose a clear place for the greeting and photos, and let guests know where to gather. Share participation preferences with our team.
Not by itself. Confirm permission with the facility operator, then ask our team to confirm program details, costs and availability.
For a gathering in Ozette, make the character visit easy to understand for children and adults alike. Let the birthday child choose a first hello, a wave from nearby or a family photo, then explain one simple activity before inviting others to join. Keep the schedule flexible so a child can pause or watch. Ask us about the character theme and possible program ideas, with details, costs and availability confirmed by our team. If using a state park facility, check its reservation channel and arrange a real indoor weather alternative for an outdoor plan.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
Washington State Parks identifies reservation types that require its call center. Check the actual facility type and booking channel before trying to secure a picnic shelter or group space online. Verify access, setup and permission for hired entertainment separately with the operator; a reservation route is not event approval.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
