No. Offer a wave, a group activity or watching from a comfortable place, with no pressure to approach.
Pick a well-lit, uncluttered spot and have one adult guide photo turns. Keep the birthday child's moment brief and relaxed.
Provide the date, location, approximate group size and requested character. Confirm the visit format, costs and availability with our team.
A gathering in Palatine Bridge can work well with a short, thoughtful character visit rather than a packed schedule. Start with a welcome wave, then offer children a choice of joining a group moment or watching first. Plan one special greeting for the guest of honor and leave time for photos without lining up every child at once. Before the day, decide where families can gather and who will help younger guests participate. Ask us about your requested theme, and confirm program ideas, costs and availability with our team.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New York State Parks describes a range of pavilion and event rental sizes and amenities. Check the exact facility's capacity, layout and regional booking conditions before choosing a gathering plan. Confirm whether a hired character visit and any equipment are permitted; the statewide rental page does not establish that every activity or date is available.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
