Yes. Make watching, waving or standing beside a trusted adult comfortable options, and invite a photo only if the child wants one.
Check current facility information, reservation steps and whether hired entertainment is permitted for your gathering.
Only after you ask us or our team to confirm the theme, program details, cost and availability. An inquiry does not reserve a visit.
A Prewitt gathering can keep its special moment simple: welcome the character, let the birthday child decide how close to stand, then offer a photo with a familiar adult nearby. Other children can take turns or watch until they feel ready. If considering a state park or group shelter, check the specific facility rather than assuming every site has the same setup. Ask us or our team about the requested character theme, program details, cost and availability. A date or ZIP request is only an inquiry, not a reservation.
Useful rules and places to check, each with its official source.
New Mexico State Parks directs visitors to specific park pages for group shelter reservations. Review the chosen facility's current conditions, operating information and alerts rather than applying one set of amenities to every park. Ask the operator about your gathering and hired entertainment before committing to the location.
Official source (opens in a new tab)For any outdoor gathering, arrange an accessible indoor backup before the party. National Weather Service guidance identifies buildings with wiring and plumbing as stronger protection; an open picnic shelter is not a lightning backup. This is national planning guidance, not a local venue rule.
